Agile Is Dead! So What? Why You Shouldn’t Fall Prey to Agile Dogma

Many people despise Agile and claim it’s dead for good, while others still defend it. But now, with Agile Alliance joining the Project Management Institute (PMI), the future is anything but certain.

I perceive Agile Alliance’s move as a last resort they could take.

As people gradually lost interest in Agile conferences, the primary revenue stream from the Agile Alliance, they had no choice but to find other distribution channels. PMI is undoubtedly a stronger one. Yet, is it the right move?

At the of the day, it’s not about doing Agile right or applying PMI practices; it’s about creating value for customers and business. That’s what we should care.

Let’s step back and ask ourselves: Has the Agile idea failed us, or have we misinterpreted and misapplied it?

It’s easy to blame Agile and claim it’s dead.

It’s hard to consider ourselves as potential problems.
