Everyone has different experiences. The beauty of Scrum is its flexibility. As a process framework, it's incomplete by design. Teams should chose what works best for them.

In my experience, I've seen better results without burndown and I truly don't see any advantages of it. Yet, that's my experience, yours is for sure different :)
