A Scrum Master would know the job is successful when the organization start changing how they work. I'd say the questions move from output to outcome, from control to empowerment. Also, teams care less about who is responsible for what and care more about how we collaborate to solve problems.

When one can observe changes towards a value-driven mindset, it's a sign of success.
