What I mean by component teams is when the organization has all product teams structured by components. In this case, no team has an end-to-end responsibility.

Every case is different, but I would evaluate the differences. What is a no-go for me, is when teams don't focus on goals, but prioritize parts exclusively per component instead of having a full responsibility.
