I am so sorry to read your story. Unfortunately, management is unwilling to empower teams and that leads to situations like yours.

The problem we face now is not how to do Scrum better but how to have a value-driven culture. Until that happens, no agile framework will help maximize the value.

I learned that we can find a way out of this trap. Yet, it requires multiple conflicts. Once we can be more rebels and break the "rules", we can prove with value how to benefit from Scrum.
