I think it's a different comparison, on the shops you buy a manufactured product. You tune your car. It's a process, not something.

Doing Scrum properly means solving a problem in a way that generates value. Creating something new. It's a creative process. Therefore, a standard process won't work.

If executives are unwilling to adapt, mediocritiy is the ultimate result.
