I totally understand your point.

I try to explain Scrum with cooking. For example, a Chef should not spend all the time planning the perfect receipe while lacking the necessary ingredients. Without the right ingredients, no receipe will lead you to an outstanding dish.

The same goes with companies trying to do "Scrum" they focus on implementing events while lacking: Vision, Strategy, Goals, and Empowerment. Without the right ingredients, Scrum teams will fall into several traps.
