I'd say we will need to agree to disagree as I cannot see the world as you do :)
Burndown focuses on output. I dislike that. Teams don't need to look at the burndown to understand whether they'll get the goal achieved or not. This may be helpful for new teams, but truly self-managing teams are far better off without it.
Scrum doesn't have a single mention of burndown.
Burndown leads to breaking down stories into tasks, estimate tasks, align on estimates. Often, this causes more wastes than help. I've observed great results by collaborating closely and empowering the team to make decisions.
I understand all scenarios are different. Maybe burndown work well for you, but for me it's unnecessary.
