Thanks for sharing your perspective but I still take the stand that waterfall is bad for software development. The reason behind this thinking is simple, waterfall doesn't prioritize learnings, and doesn't address complexity the way it should be addressed. With software development, unpredictability is the only certainty.

I don't believe that frameworks that focus on processes over collaboration can lead team in sucessful endeavors. I also have never seen any beneficial implementation of RUP, Waterfall, or SAFe. From my experience, suce a heavy machine serves only one purpose, to let us say we are agile, but it doesn't allow us of benefiting from real agility.
