Thanks for sharing your thoughts. However, I share a different point of view.

Scrum is not holding the team from maximizing the value. A high-performing team will regularly inspect to understand the problems and then adapt to fix them. The Scrum Master doesn’t need to be a technical person to help the team to identify problems. Instead, the Scrum Master is a facilitator.

Great Leaders were not technical; for example, Steve Jobs led Apple through industry changes without being technical.

I don’t see a connection between success and technical knowledge for Scrum Master. Even if the SM has a tech background, without the required soft skills, failure is ahead, but not only for Scrum Masters, but also for any leaders.

Tech background doesn’t lead to success.
